About

Now, more than ever, the United States Law Enforcement Foundation has an important role to play.

We are the KEEPERS OF THE FLAME, ensuring the light of law enforcement shines brightly. It is our mission to illuminate the truth for those who have dedicated their lives to the service of others — giving them a voice, telling their stories, and showcasing the humanity of those sworn to serve and protect. We facilitate dialogue that promotes collaboration – the FUEL that drives safe and peaceful communities.

The United States Law Enforcement Foundation is an apolitical, 501c3, not for profit organization that advocates and serves the law enforcement profession, a commitment that has continued for more than 60 years. Headquartered in Titusville, Florida, the Foundation houses several individual organizations, including the American Police Hall of Fame and Museum, the Memorial Rotunda which honors officers whose lives were lost in the line of duty; the National Association of Chiefs of Police and the American Federation of Police & Concerned Citizens. These programs support the profession of law enforcement through advocacy, training and education by introducing the general public to the daily realities of police work as well as providing services to the surviving families of disabled and fallen officers. Every year in May for National Police Week, the museum hosts thousands from law enforcement who attend our Memorial Service that honors the profession and remembers those whose lives were taken. OUR HISTORY

Since 1960 the profession of Law Enforcement has been supported through three related organizations:

American Police Hall of Fame and Museum (APHF)

The American Police Hall of Fame and Museum was founded in 1960 in North Port, Florida to account for and honor officers from across the U.S. who had fallen in the line of duty.

Since that time, APHF has erected the first national law enforcement memorial in the United States and helped establish May 15th as Peace Officer Memorial Day. In 1988 the APHF moved to Miami , and in 2003 relocated to its current address at the United States Law Enforcement Foundation headquarters in Titusville, Florida.

National Association of Chiefs of Police (NACOP)

In 1967, NACOP was established to advocate for the profession of law enforcement in the United States, and to promote organized dialogue among law enforcement agencies throughout the country.

Currently representing 816 members, NACOP conducts an annual state of the profession survey, publishes the National Chiefs of Police magazine quarterly, and conducts various awards programs and programs of compassion for disabled officers.

American Federation of Police and Concerned Citizens (AFPCC)

Founded in 1978, the AFPCC operates programs that support the survivor family members of officers fallen in the line of duty.

OUR VISION FOR THE FUTURE

In total, over 1,000 individuals representing agency leaders and commanding officers, community leaders, and advisors from across the country, have helped to inform our final vision and plan.

Now, to bring that vision to life, we’ve launched the most significant campaign in our history – $55 MILLION OVER THREE YEARS, to 10x our programmatic impact and to develop a world-class campus that brings law enforcement together with civilians from around the country and world, dedicated to the forging of positive relationships, deeper understanding, and best practice outcomes between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
