THE USLEF SYMPOSIUM and PANEL EVENTS

USLEF convenes experts and thought leaders from around the world to share ideas and best practices, and to keep our finger on the pulse of the most pressing challenges and emerging models in community policing.

These hosted educational events have become a growing destination for agency leaders, business executives and potential funders seeking to implement change and positive impact.

We use our production and national distribution channels to stream content from these sessions digitally across the country and world, reenforcing USLEF’s mission to scale impact and enable safer communities. Contact Debbie Pehlam at debbie@uslef.org for more information.

THE USLEF ACADEMY

USLEF Academy focuses on the development of soft skills to aid individual officers across the country by providing important educational content and resources to enable them to better focus and thrive in their increasingly complex roles. Our core curriculum focuses on building strong foundations around Emotional Health and Wellbeing, and Personal Financial Literacy.

Responding to a growing need for soft skill development, USLEF piloted its core initial 2-course curriculum in 2023. The response was overwhelmingly favorable and plans are underway to scale academy offerings. Access is provided to all officers regardless of location and agency resources, through either classroom instruction or USLEF’s new digital app. Contact Debbie Pehlam at debbie@uslef.org for more information.

OFFICER AND SURVIVOR FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES

For 60 years, USLEF has provided support programs to survivor family members of fallen officers and to officers disabled in the line of duty. Perhaps the most important of these is the support given year in and year out, through educational scholarships for students; Christmas, birthday, Mothers Day and Fathers Day gifts; and our annual Family Outing in Florida where survivor families can connect and reconnect with friends who have experienced a similar loss, and help comfort those who may be experiencing these stark realities for the first time.

One mother has been in our program for 40 years and the majority of members in our programs say “USLEF is the organization that has never forgotten.”

USLEF is often first to respond to families devastated by the horror and reality of debilitating injury or death with emergency financial support.
